Escobar's Hippos Wildin' Out in Colombia: Environmental Mess or Nah?
Them hippos Pablo brought done messed up the ecosystem, but is culling the answer or just another way to step on the little man?

DORADAL, Colombia – Aight, so check it. Back in the day, Pablo Escobar, that kingpin, had a whole zoo at his crib, right? He brought in all kinda exotic animals, including these hippos. Now, after he was gone, them hippos started multiplying like rabbits, and now they overpopulating Colombia. We talkin' 'bout almost 200 of these big boys roaming free, messin' with the water and everything.
Now, the government talkin' 'bout culling 'em, killin' off like 80 hippos this year. Some folks say it's necessary 'cause these hippos throwin' off the whole ecosystem. Nataly Castelblanco-Martinez, some biologist, say they droppin' mad waste in the rivers and lakes, changin' the water and killin' off the plants. That sound like a legit problem, but killin' the animals ain't always the answer, ya feel me?
But here's the kicker: some Indian billionaire, Anant Ambani, offerin' to take 80 of these hippos to his wildlife reserve in India. Sergio Estrada, a professor, say that move is logistical hell. We talking about transportin' these big hippos on trucks, then flyin' them halfway across the world. That's a whole lotta stress for the animals, plus it probably cost a grip.
For real, this situation got everybody heated. Some folks in Doradal even makin' bread off the hippos with tours and souvenirs. They say the hippos part of the community now. Other folks just tryna get rid of them. It's a whole mess, man.
Look, at the end of the day, these hippos didn't ask to be brought to Colombia. They just vibin' and doin' what hippos do. The real issue is how we gon' fix this situation without messin' up the environment or steppin' on the little man. Killin' animals ain't the move, but lettin' them destroy the ecosystem ain't cool either. This is a classic case of rich people messin' things up and regular folks gotta deal with the consequences, ya dig?
This remind me of that one time back in the hood when… (story omitted for brevity and relevance)
At the end of the day, it gotta be a solution that respects the animals and the community. Maybe that sterilization thing worth tryin'.
This ain't just about hippos. It’s a bigger thing about who gets a say and who pay the price. Real talk. Gotta keep it 100. It is about how we gonna fix this mess without hurtin' those who already stragglin' just to survive.
One thing for sure is the decisions the Colombian government makes gonna be looked at by others to see what to do and not to do. This ain't a game. We all gotta wake up, man.
For real, we just trying to survive in the system, and it’s already hard enough. I ain't tryna be out here lookin' at dead hippos on top of it. We don't even get to do that and ain't never did, know what i'm sayin'?
Gotta find a way out, gotta do it ourselves, gotta build what we need.
So, Colombia, you gotta do the right thing by the community and the animals. No cap.
