Hospitals Playin' the Game While Folks Struggle Wit' Medical Bills, Frfr
These so-called 'nonprofit' hospitals ain't really 'bout that life, chargin' folks out the a** and then denyin' 'em help when they need it most.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Man, check it. These hospitals out here frontin' like they tryna help the community, but real talk, they just tryna stack bread. Word is bond, fam. A new investigation by KFF Health News and the Minnesota Star Tribune done pulled back the curtain, showin' how these supposed “nonprofit” hospitals be schemin' on folks. It's a whole lotta cap, no kizzy.
This investigation be focusin' on Minnesota hospitals, and lemme tell you, the numbers don't lie. They found that these hospitals givin' out less money for charity care than almost anywhere else in the whole damn country. We talkin' 'bout hospitals that get hella tax breaks 'cause they supposed to be helpin' folks out. But nah, they just pocketin' that skrilla.
Like this sister, Cori Roberts, from St. Cloud. She got diagnosed with early-stage cervical cancer, right? So she got hit wit' over $8,000 in medical bills from CentraCare. Now, CentraCare is supposed to be a nonprofit, but they told Cori she made TOO MUCH MONEY to get any help. $41,000 a year? That ain't even enough to pay rent in some cities, know what I'm sayin'?
Instead of cuttin' her some slack, they turned around and SUED HER for the money she owed. They sued a woman with cancer! That's cold, man. Straight up grimey. These hospitals act like they can't spare a dime, but they got money for lawyers and fancy new equipment. Priorities is messed up, deadass.
Nationwide, hospitals spend 'bout 2.4% of their budgets on charity care. But in Minnesota, they only spend about a THIRD of that. That's some bullsh*t, straight up. They playin' us for fools.
The investigation also showed that 62 out of 123 hospitals in Minnesota only spent less than 0.5% of their budgets on charity care between 2020 and 2024. That's pennies on the dollar, fam. CentraCare's main hospital only spent 'bout $25 in patient aid for every $10,000 they spent on runnin' the hospital. That's a damn shame.
They sayin' the system is broke, and yeah, that's true. But it's broke on purpose. They buildin' the system to benefit themselves and keep us down. They ain't tryna help nobody but themselves. Gotta stay woke, y'all.
These hospitals be gettin' away wit' murder, and nobody doin' nothin' 'bout it. The politicians ain't gonna help us, the corporations ain't gonna help us. We gotta help ourselves. We gotta start holdin' these hospitals accountable and demandin' that they do right by the community.
We gotta fight for healthcare for all, not just for the rich. We gotta stop lettin' these corporations exploit us and take advantage of us. We gotta rise up and demand justice. No more games, no more lies. It's time for a change, for real.
If you can't afford to get sick, then you can't afford to live. And that's the truth. Wake up, people. Realize what's goin' on around you. These hospitals ain't yo friends, they yo enemies. Treat 'em as such. Keep grindin', stay hustlin', and don't let nobody take advantage of you. This is for survival, ya dig?
Real talk.
