Trump Administration Tryna Roll Back Rules on That Poison Gas, EtO?
They sayin' it's gon' save money, but what 'bout the folks breathin' in that mess, especially in the hood?

Aight, listen up, y'all. This ain't no joke. They talkin' 'bout messin' with the rules on ethylene oxide, that EtO, right? That's the stuff they use to clean all the medical gear, but turns out it's way more toxic than they thought. Like, 60 times worse. Now, the Trump administration, they wanna roll back the rules that were supposed to keep that poison outta our air.
Back in 2024, Biden's EPA tried to do somethin' 'bout it, make companies cut back on that EtO by 90%. But now, Trump's crew tryna undo all that. They sayin' it's gonna save companies money, but where's the money goin' when folks gettin' sick from breathin' that stuff in? 'Specially when it's mostly the low-income neighborhoods, you know, where we at, that gon' feel the hit.
This cat Erik Olson from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is sayin' this is part of a bigger plan to weaken the rules on all kinda toxic stuff. The NRDC is a plaintiff in a lawsuit concerning EtO. Straight up, they ain't lookin' out for us. They claimin' it'll save companies $47 million a year, but what's that worth when peoples lungs are gettin' messed up?
They use this EtO to clean like 20 billion medical thangs a year, pacemakers, needles, all that. But it's also linked to leukemia and other serious sicknesses. Rescindin' them rules means 2.3 million peoples still gonna be breathin' that poison. That ain't right. The Clean Air Act supposed to make sure they check up on this stuff, but they playin' us. The agency initially set emission standards for EtO, but now they actin' like it aint no big deal.
They supposed to be watchin' out for us, but they watchin' out for them corporations and they pockets. So, while they talkin' 'bout savin' money, remember who payin' the price. It's always us, the ones breathin' in the pollution while they livin' good up in they ivory towers. This ain't just some news story, this our lives. We gotta speak up and let em know we ain't havin' it. We deserve to breathe clean air, just like everybody else, ya dig?
